The birth of LIGURE timepieces started in Primavera on a terrace in the harbor of Portofino. It embodies the friendship, passion, and commitment of three individuals, each with a desire to turn back time itself to an era where quality, affordability, originality, and a zest for life were commonplace. Fair, without cutting corners.
A REUNION BETWEEN FRIENDS
Designing and creating what you would buy yourself, that was the challenge when the idea to start LIGURE WATCHES came up. Luxury can be bought, good taste cannot.

DESIGN
The design of the TARTARUGA series was done by Jannieke.
As a leading designer in a different industry, she had no experience designing a watch. A fresh look from the outside on existing designs can be illuminating. It gave her enormous freedom in thinking and creativity. Not subject to the limitations of a common sense or market standard.
A process to generate and transmit the ultimate Italian feeling through time. Just let the creativity and inspiration flow and design what we like and would like to wear ourselves.

Widely used in Italy and it is difficult to translate because it is a way of life. Time is like a gentleman; it heals, has patience and is based on the positive and good. Everything always works out in the end. We are attracted to this phrase, it is a way of thinking that appeals to us.
Ligure Watches was initiated by Jannieke, Loek & Pieter. But they are not alone, the comments and additions from many within and outside the watch industry have contributed to the final product. Baton indexes are highly legible on the dial. This also allows us to equip them with Swiss luminosity for better visibility in the dark.
DETAILS
Every facet of the creation of a LIGURE is done in-house. Jannieke is responsible for the design. After discussing her designs with Loek and Pieter, prototypes are made.
